Volunteer of the Month: December 2015:
We are pleased to announce our Volunteer of the Month is Ellie Podsednikova!!! Ellie has spent countless hours this month working on our last project of the year - our pet photos with Santa. Ellie attended at Pet Valu several times to set up the location, find props, then spent hours with one break photographing everyone's pets and Santa. Then the challenging work began - editing over 1,500 photos, printing them, delivering them to the store and answering countless emails and requests for digital copies. Thank you Ellie Marie Podsedníková for your dedication to our team and for giving of your creative talent to make this holiday season so special for the 57 guardians and their companion animals that came out to our event. Ellie helped us raise $460 for Arts Senior Rescue! Thank you Ellie!!!
Ellie Podsednikova - Valued Volunteer
"Goodness! I am shocked and honored to be picked as the volunteer of the month for Berkeley's Place! I started out in the rescue community as a foster home for a local rescue group. Although being a foster home had some perks, it really wasn't what I was looking for, but in that time period, I got acquainted with Berkeley's Place; Their mission to help animals (and people!) on a much larger scale, coming from a place of compassion, caught my attention. It was in June of 2015 that I joined them!
In the short seven months that I have been a volunteer, I have become the unofficial Berkeley's place photographer! In my time with Berkeley's Place, I have had the pleasure of getting to know Lillian and her husband, Gordon. They are most supportive, compassionate people with the biggest hearts imaginable. They are supportive of both my personal and professional goals! It is a real privilege to be a part of the growing Berkeley's Place movement and lay witness to such kindness and generosity of the volunteers, stores, and people as everyone comes together to with one goal: To help the animals while helping each other!"
